A Christmas Box

Box

Good Morning. I hope your Monday morning got off to a good start. It is a beautiful day in northern NY. My husband Tom and I are going to play one last round of golf for the season . One of our favorite things to do together.

Today I am showing you the box we made in class at the Library. I thought this was going to be my last class for the season but the ladies sort of talked me into one last class. My class has a great group of people. I am going to have to step it up a little next year because my class cannot be classified as a beginner class anymore. Some very talented people let me say.

I copied the box layout from Ronda Wade. The bottom is plain cardstock 8 x 8 scored at 2 inches. The top is a  6 x 6 piece of DSP scored at 1 inch. Very easy to put together. I used the sentiment from the “Merry Christmas to All” stamp set found in the Holiday catalog. This stamp set is included in a bundle with thinlet dies and if purchased together you receive 10% off. I have yet to use the dies but will show you finished card when I do.

I used the following items to make the box:

  • 102584 – Garden Green Cardstock – pg 187 -AC
  • 147080 – Garden Green Ink – pg 187 – AC
  • 141706 – Layering Ovals Framelits – pg 218 – AC
  • 141851 – Pretty Pines Thinlets – pg 219 – AC (for the bow)
  • 147801 – Frosted Epoxy Droplets – pg 37 –  HC

I used a piece of designer series paper that was on the clearance rack. But it has since sold out.

Have a great day!

Wishing You Well

IMG_20180827_083855

I have my monthly class at the Library tomorrow and this is the card that will be made. The “Wishing You Well” stamp set is my favorite in the Holiday catalog. It has four different greetings with such pretty font. The card is very easy to make . It was very tricky getting the bow where I wanted it. Next time I will use the Stamparatus. Making this card made me feel so calm. I hope the class members do to.

As I said this stamp set is so versatile. All you need is cardstock and different inks to make cards for every occasion . The possibilities are endless. I used the following items for this card:

  • 147864 – Wishing You Well stamp set – HC pg.35
  • 101650 – Very Vanilla Cardstock – AC pg.192
  • 147144 – Fresh Fig ink – AC pg. 183
  • 147116 – Crumb Cake ink – AC pg.184
  • 147086 – Pumpkin Pie ink – AC pg. 187
  • 104430 – Dimensionals – AC pg. 213

See you only need a few items. Ooops I forgot the envelopes. I always forget the envelopes. Very Vanilla envelopes is item 107300. You get 40  in a package.

Please go to my site and check out the clearance items . The list was updated yesterday. Some great items on there. And from experience,  if you find something you want don’t wait , order it.

Happy Birthday

Good morning! Today is my oldest daughter Jennifer’s birthday ! I am not going to tell you how old she is because it makes me feel older . Ha-Ha. No –  age is just a number. She is 41. Tom and I were lucky and got to see her and her family this Labor Day weekend. She has a step daughter who is married and expecting a baby in February .( That is right -I am going to be a great grandmother . ) She also has two sons going into middle school this week. Jen is a great wife and mother.

I made her a birthday card with a gift card holder Cased from Deseree Buss Krumm. I added a ribbon to hold the card together. This gift card holder is very easy to make. I used to just put gift card into the card so it would move all over. I love the idea of a holder in the card. I used my go to Birthday stamp set Picture Perfect Birthday. It is one of those stamp sets you just have to have .

I used the following products for this card:

  • 145519 – Picture Perfect Birthday – pg.76
  • 111350 – Pacific Point cardstock   – pg.185
  • 147098 – Pacific Point cardstock   – pg. 185
  • 146289 – Garden Impressions DSP-Pg. 191

Happy birthday Jennifer .

Clearance Items

IMG_20180827_200754Good Morning! Going to be a hot one on the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario today. I just realized how fortunate I am to live where I do. If I go to the end of my road and turn right I am five miles from the river. If I go to the end of my road and turn left and go five miles I am at the lake. Beautiful area to live.

I had ordered the Watercolor Christmas project kit on clearance  for my youngest daughter .  She is a Hallmark girl but wants to make her Christmas cards. So this is going to be mother/daughter time. So I noticed the kit in my craft room. I checked the clearance items on Stampin’Up! and the kit is still available. The stamp set used is retired. Trying to incorporate current items I came up with the Christmas Pines stamp set for the sentiment and it worked perfectly.

So just a reminder to check the clearance items from time to time when placing an order. Sometimes the items go quickly so don’t hesitate if you really want something. This kit is only $8.00 on clearance and you can make 20 cards. And use any greeting you have to fit. Here are the numbers for ordering the items I used:

  • 144649 – Watercolor Christmas Project Kit
  • 142049 – Christmas Pines stamp set
  • 132708 – Memento ink

Amazing You

IMG_20180811_165739I am about to load the car with all my supplies for my class at the library and noticed I have a few minutes to spare. I was going to post later but will do so now. I know the women will love this card. I have about 10 women who come to my classes now. I love to see their faces when they finish a card. They are so excited.

This card is called an Eclipse card. If you noticed this card has no stamping! The 3D effect is accomplished using the Big Shot and dies. I know it looks like it may be hard to do but it isn’t. I put the large letters through the Big Shot and then give them the raised effect with foam adhesive strips. This card can be whipped up in no time.

I used the following products:

  • 141825- pg.213 -Foam Adhesive Strips
  • 141712 – pg.218 -Large Letter Framelits
  • 146840 – pg. 216 -Celebrate You Thinlets
  • 143263 – pg. 214  – Big Shot
  • 146962 -pg. 191 – In Color DSP ( grapefruit grove)
  • 146338 – pg. 189 -Natures Poem DSP
  • 133675 -pg.187 – Blackberry Bliss cardstock

Well I really do have to go . Have a great day!

Jetfire Daffodil

IMG_20180628_122015

Have you heard of a jetfire daffodil? I had grown some years ago and have since moved to another home. For whatever reason I was thinking of them last night.  The colors of a jetfire daffodil are green , orange, and yellow. I then remembered I have the stamp set You’re Inspiring.

Again I like simple. My card base is Old Olive. I then cut a mat  in Pumpkin Pie . I stamped the daffodils  with Memento ink on to Whisper White cardstock. I then used Stampin’ Blends to color the image. The colors  I used are Daffodil Delight Light, Pumpkin Pie Light, Pumpkin Pie Dark, and Old Olive Light. The Stampin’ Blends are now available to order .  The greeting is included with the stamp set Sheltering Tree.

Now grab your catalog and I will tell you where to find the items to make this card.  If you don’t have a catalog  email me at  chardwyer@outlook.com . I will tell you  how to receive a printed copy or go to my online store with a click .

  • 137163 – Sheltering Tree -32708 pg.140
  • 145808 – You’re Inspiring – pg.132
  • 132708 – Memento Pad – pg.203
  • 105117 – Pumpkin Pie Cardstock – pg. 187
  • 100702 – Old Olive Cardstock – pg. 187

Lovely As A Tree

I hope you are enjoying your morning coffee or beverage of choice on this beautiful day in northern New York. I have a story about these two cards. My upline Susan Horr has a stamp club which meets once a month. I try to go as often as I can. We have so much fun. Susan’s design is on the left. Well I fell absolutely in love with this card. I like the simplicity of the design and the colors used. As I was making the card I said to myself “I am going to CASE this card for my next library class. The women that come to my class would really like this I think.” For some of you who may not know CASE means copy and share everything.

So I make the card and come home. I am so excited about this card I can’t wait to make another one. So I gathered my cardstock , my designer series paper,  my snail, and my cutter.  I cut my paper and glued the card base and first mat together. So I go back into craft room to gather the new ” Rooted In Nature”  stamp set and matching framelits. I was sure I had ordered them. Well I did not order them . I was so disappointed. So i just stood there for while and then I thought of the old standby “Lovely As A Tree” stamp set. It is a stamp set that can be used for any occasion. I use it all the time.

Well as you can see my design is  on the right. I was so happy with the results. I think the ladies in my class will like this too. So you see two beautiful cards with same paper but using two different stamp sets.

By the way “Rooted in Nature ” is first item on my next order.

Have a great day! Char

Splash and Bubbles

Good Morning!! I feel like a little fun this morning. So here we go. The picture of the fish is from a PBS kids show called Splash and Bubbles. I had my granddaughter,  Ava for a month while she was transitioning to a new daycare. A spot for her was going to open. Well I usually don’t allow TV but it was raining a couple of days so we turned on PBS. I just loved the colors in this show, particularly this fish. I snapped a picture . Ava laughed out loud and said “Gamma why are you taking picture of a fish on TV”.

So I tried to match colors as best I could with my Stampin’Up cardstock.

I am using this card for my class at the library on June 26th. I want to show my class what can be made with just some cardstock , punches, ink, and a little embellishment. I had so much fun and it was so late when I finished. As you can see you punch your cardstock with the tailored tag punch and arrange them . Let your creativity go crazy. I then used  the greeting from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set punched with the Everyday label punch. And have I told you how much I just love the new polka dot tulle ribbon in the new catalog. Well I do. The card didn’t really need anything else but when I added the ribbon it took on a whole new look for me.

Anyway I have listed  the colors I used . Please look through the catalog and tell me the combination you would use to match my fish. By the way I have another picture of a fish . I have the cardstock but no inks. So my next order I will buy matching inks so I can create another card. Turn on Splash and Bubbles and look at all the colors for your inspiration!

146986- Highland Heather cardstock                                                                                          138337- Mint Macaron cardstock                                                                                                115320 – Melon Mambo cardstock   147051 Ink                                                                        146972- Grapefruit Grove cardstock                                                                                          146912- Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon                                                                                                   145667-Tailored Tag Punch                                                                                                           144668- Everyday Label Punch                                                                                                    145519- Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set                                                                               100730- Whisper White cardstock (oops how could I forget )

Until next time ! Char

Being a Gamma

Ava

It is a beautiful evening in northern New York. I live outside a  little village  on the St. Lawrence River. Across the river is Canada. Ships are on the river daily. The picture above is  my granddaughter Ava standing on the beach in awe of a passing  ship. We saw a red one and a blue one pass that day . My granddaughter is in the transition between two day care programs. And guess who is blessed to have her for three weeks -Gamma (as I am called) and Grandpa. Ava is 27 months old and so smart. I know all grandparents think their grandchildren are smart . But she really is. We sing , read, dance ,color ,etc. You get the picture. But I think her favorite thing to do these last few weeks is to go to the beach , play in the sand , and watch the ships pass.

Needless to say my creative energies the last few weeks have been to make memories with my granddaughter Ava.

If you have any Stampin’Up questions please click shop now or email me. There are many specials that will end on May 31 which I can’t believe is only a few days away.

Glad you stopped by. Thank you. Char (AKA Gamma)
